Arua High Court Holds RCC Meeting

On Tuesday March 26,2024, the Arua High Court held a Regional Chain-linked Committee which was attended by representatives of justice institutions with a regional mandate. 

The meeting which was chaired by the Resident Judge, resolved to have an in-house training on the Court Case Administration System to ensure accuracy of the digital records. It was agreed that the Court would follow up and secure the land Arua City and Terego District gave to the Judiciary for the construction of courthouses. Arua City had given land for the construction of a regional Court of Appeal.  

The other concerns raised were in respect of Community Service, the need for a remand home, and effective use of Small Claims Procedure.

In attendance; the Court's Deputy Registrar, HW Loe Karungi, a cross-section of Magistrates, the Resident City Commissioner, Resident District Commissioner Arua District Regional Police Commander Regional Prisons Commander. The others included advocates from private practice and representatives of the Administrator General, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Community Service, among others.
